Why visit Soma Bay
Soma Bay sits on a genuinely spectacular natural peninsula surrounded by shallow reef flats on three sides. The house reef at The Breakers is one of the most respected shore-diving sites in Egypt — a coral wall dropping into 30+ metres accessible via a jetty straight off the beach.
The Cascades Golf Course, designed by Gary Player, is the only oceanside championship course on the Red Sea coast and one of the few reasons golfers with proper handicaps make the trip to Egypt. Kempinski's Six Senses spa is the largest thalasso centre in the Middle East, drawing wellness guests who wouldn't otherwise consider a beach resort.
Because access is via a single 900-metre causeway, Soma Bay is completely quiet and self-contained. There's no local town, no bazaar, no traffic — just five hotels, the golf course, the spa, a beach club and a kite station. It's the closest thing on the Egyptian coast to a full disconnect.

Transfer duration & the drive
The transfer from Hurghada Airport to Soma Bay is a straight 45 km southbound run on the Safaga Highway, past the Makadi Bay turn-off and onto the peninsula causeway. Expect 40 to 50 minutes end to end. The road is dual-carriageway most of the way and empty outside of commuter hours, so night-time transfers actually move a bit faster than daytime.

That price is locked in before you fly, covers everything (fuel, tolls, insurance, gate access, driver), and stays the same on Christmas Day, Ramadan nights or a rainy Tuesday in November.
